About

The Washboard Highway is my way of taking the road less traveled. Or as Abbey put it “Taking the Other.”  More often than not it specifically refers to a long desolate stretch of washboard desert road but is not limited to such.  It’s about avoiding the mainstream, the interstate, the ideology of the masses. Why take the freeway when you can take back roads?  Why always need a destination when the journey is the reward?  A bunch of hyperbole and nonsense to be sure with a little sarcasm thrown in for fun.

This is a new and different venue for me to ramble on about my wandering. I’ll be keeping my Expedition Americas site and occasionally adding to it but I’ve decided a need a new project to keep my writing skill sharpened to a dull edge and one a little more appropriate for the adventures. I’ll probably dig up some older stories and add some photos along the way as well.

I’ll also be the primary contributor to the Canguro Racing as we race and prepare for the upcoming 2012 racing season.
